My name is John Ashline, but my mother's family is Douglas. They are the family members I most resemble, and identify with. I am always looking for information on Douglases, but I am having a hard time tracking beyond my great grandfather Charles Douglas (my grandfather was his son Charles Joseph Douglas). I think his father, my great great grandfather, may have been Joseph Douglas, but I am unsure. We are from upstate New York (Plattsburgh and the surrounding areas). I know my own grandfather may have spent time in Massachusetts, and has other family there. The sad part is my grandmother, who knew much of this information, contracted Alzheimer's disease, and died fairly recently. Much information is lost beyond what little I know.

That was quite a lot to say, but I wanted to introduce myself.
